GUIDED TOURS

SWARTBERG CIRCLE ROUTE GUIDED TOURS

After a complimentary pick-up at your Guesthouse, the first stop is an ostrich farm tour. As we’ll be roughing it farm style, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes. And remember your camera! This tour has some exceptional moments you’ll want to capture, especially watching the chicks hatch.

Next up is the Cango Caves. Driving down the R328 on the way to the Swartberg Mountain Pass, you’ll come across this incredible natural wonder. Here we’ll embark on the Heritage Tour where you’ll learn all about these ancient caves and caverns.

From here, we make our way up the Swartberg Pass with its magnificent views of the Klein Karoo. And what better place to break out the picnic basket, pour a glass of wine and savour the scenic beauty and tranquillity of this spectacular pass.

After a leisurely lunch, we continue along the pass which leads to Prince Albert. This hidden little gem, surrounded by vineyards, fruit and olive farms, will have you experiencing Karoo hospitality at its best.

On the way back to Oudtshoorn, we make our way through the giant cliff walls and breathtaking rock formations of Meiringspoort, which is also a World Heritage Site. Here we take a short hike up to the waterfall where you can take a dip in its cool waters and get a bird’s-eye view of the pass.

As the busy and exciting day draws to an end, we head back to Oudtshoorn by way of the village of De Rust, before seeing you back safely to your hotel or guesthouse.
