OUR RESTAURANT

Accompany your unique South African bushveld experience with some authentic African style dining. Buffelsdrift Restaurant is renowned for its perfectly prepared Karoo cuisine and every dish is home-made with the highest quality, locally sourced fresh produce.

Our award-winning wine list offers some of the finest quality wines to be found on the Route 62, which also happens to be the world’s longest wine route. Dry wines, fortified wines, intriguing blends, potstill brandies and Muscadel — take your pick of the best!

Complete with grand piano and a crackling fireplace, Buffelsdrift Restaurant exudes warmth and cosiness. The restaurant has seating for up to 120 guests, but a further 100 guests can be seated on the large wooden deck that extends from the restaurant.

From the deck, diners can enjoy the most spectacular views of the 5ha waterhole with hippos, turtles and fish swimming about. You might also be lucky enough to spot the elephants and various other game on the opposite bank.

Buffelsdrift Game Lodge Restaurant is open for a la carte dining from 12:00 – 22:00, with lunch served from 12:00 – 17:00 and dinner from 18:00 – 22:00. We happily cater for special dietary needs.

Overview

Dreaming of having a place where guests can enjoy good food and good wine a restaurant was slowly established at De Denne. Living out a dream became a reality when she kept on feeling the need to name the restaurant and take it to higher levels.

Literally one night in a dream the name Ma Belle was in her head, not knowing what it meant she googled it the next morning and was amazed by the meaning. It fitted what she had in mind perfectly, beautiful food – beautiful wine and beautiful views.

The kitchen staff at Ma Belle Restaurant are friendly local people who undergo high quality training. After all, cooking delicious food never reaches a know-it-all point.

Our BBQ Ostrich signature dish is very popular and something unique, our exclusively selected wines will compliment every dish on our enticing menu. Fresh vegetables & herbs from our garden add the little organic touch.

De Denne Country Guesthouse in Oudtshoorn is the perfect stop over halfway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth travelling on the Route 62.

Head out to Wilgewandel Holiday Farm, just 27km from Oudtshoorn, and enjoy a fun-filled day in the fresh country air with beautiful views and tons of activities to keep the kids entertained for hours on end.

Fill up at our restaurant on anything from traditional home-cooked meals to delicious desserts, ostrich dishes, garden-fresh salads, gourmet milkshakes and home-made roosterkoek – all at affordable prices.

Don’t forget, we also have a special kiddies menu available for our younger guests. To celebrate those special days of the year, like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas, we prepare an extra special menu with great value meals to celebrate the occasion.

Wilgewandel Holiday Farm Restaurant caters for Vegetarian and Halaal and are more than happy to make arrangements for any guests that have special dietary needs. We also cater for birthday parties, special functions and school groups and can provide special rates and menus for groups larger than 20.

The Colony Restaurant offers a unique setting on the upper level of the grand old Queen’s Hotel by BON Hotels – the oldest 4-star and third oldest hotel in South Africa. During the cooler months, dine snuggly indoors, where the sophisticated, elegant interior and warm atmosphere provide the perfect setting for an intimate evening of fine dining.

Overview

Enjoy lunch and dinner in our a la carte Restaurant, Oudtshoorn in Schoemanshoek, just few kilometres from Oudtshoorn.

Halaal Oudtshoorn, All of our Ostrich and Chicken dishes are Halaal.

De Oude Meul Restaurant Oudtshoorn is no ordinary Restaurant. It is a historic building with the Old Watermill still inside the Restaurant. Approx. 150 years old.

The Restaurant opened its doors in Oct. 2003. Known for the wide variety of venison dishes served in the restaurant. People come from wide and far for the experience.

We are also known for the wildlife scenery and river in front of the Restaurant that creates a peaceful yet romantic atmosphere!

We are situated at the foothills of the Swartberg mountains and are also surrounded by mountains. Truly The little paradise in the Klein Karoo!

Our Buffet

Daily from 8:00 – 9:30

The building was restored in 2003 when Christo & his wife Doret built 12 four star guestrooms next to the old building.

The “Old Mill” inside the restaurant, was in production for about a hundred years and all the wheat from the Cango Valley was milled here.

The Mill closed down in 1920 and for more than 80 years it was used as a storage facility.

WE SPECIALISE IN VENISON DISHES

The restaurant is surrounded by mountains and a free flowing river, therefore it creates a relaxing yet romantic atmosphere.

The restaurant tenders for meals for all guests and tour groups over lunch and dinner. Buffet or a la carte. For these people a farm stop is also a very special experience.

The rooms of our nearby lodge overlook the fields where animals graze. To eat as well as to stay here in this very special environment is a great privilege.

Some of the best local wines are sold here.
