Calitzdorp activities stretch form Calitzdorp to Kruisrivier and Matjiesvlei area.

Calitzdorp Wine Cellar

Situated in a beautiful valley along Route 62 in the Little Karoo town of Calitzdorp, Calitzdorp Cellar is an award winning winery dating from 1928. This area is well-known for its fortified wines, primarily port and is also worth a stop along the world’s longest wine route.

Calitzdorp Hotsprings

Our Spa is famous for its natural healing waters with rejuvenating mineral water, which bubbles up from mother earth. It contains many minerals with iron and manganese in abundance. The Spa is traditionally a Winter Resort getaway, but is equally popular all year round. The Spa is also a birdwatchers paradise with over 72-recorded species.

Dutch Reformed Church

Dutch Reformed Church in Calitzdorp were declared a national monument in 1991. Church ceremonies still take place in the church every sunday morning at 09:30.

Kruisrivier Gallary & Coffee Shop

A beautifully renovated school building is the home to the exhibition of Roger Young’s sensitive and eloquent photographs and unique, handcrafted furniture of solid wood. We also a coffee shop serving light refreshments, great coffee as well as biscotti, on a stoep with a view of beautiful landscape.

De Krans Wines

De Krans Wine Cellar is situated along the upper reaches of the picturesque Gamka River Valley near Calitzdorp. Wine tasting is offered daily from Monday to Friday (8 am to 5 pm) as well as Saturdays (9 am to 3 pm). There is a 30 minute vineyard walking trial through the vineyards of De Krans.

Boplaas Family Vineyards

Although our story dates back to 1880 when the first brandy was crafted at Boplaas by Daniel Nel, for export to London, it is only since 1980 that Boplaas in its current form came into existence.
