Set amongst the mountains and the famous red hills, in our own private nature reserve and surrounded by game reserves – a secret place of magnificent views, glorious sunsets, star filled nights without a single city light to distract you, wonderful encounters with wildlife, fabulous food, long nights around the blazing fire

Situated a mere 15 minutes away from the bustling town of Oudtshoorn and even less to the major attractions of the region – from the breathtaking Swartberg Pass, to the wonders of Meiringspoort and everything else that makes Oudtshoorn the tenth most visited region in South Africa!

Our Rooms

Set amongst red Enon hills, and surrounded by game and nature with magnificent views, glorious sunsets, and star filled nights.

There are four chalets set on a hillside overlooking the valley and one cottage in the dry riverbed. Each of the chalets has a private deck with armchairs and cushions, each decorated in a different animal theme. If you are looking for Tourist Graded luxury 4* lodge this is the place for you,and we do endeavour to give you all the comforts that you might need and more.

The Chalets are set 300m and the Cottage about 50m from the main lodge where we light our nightly fire, eat dinner and breakfast. The animal view from here in the evening is spectacular. This makes every evening a really special occasion. The Chalets are directly linked to our two walking trails which take you right up to the hills and valleys and back to your chalet.

Our 4th Self Catering Cottage is tucked away in the river bed. It has its own fireplace and is completely secluded from the main lodge and other Chalets – but guests may, of course, join for breakfast or dinner, as you wish. This is a perfect honeymoon hideaway or for small families.

Private secluded deck overlooking valley, tea/coffee station, en-suite bathroom with shower, mini fridge with bottled water (no charge), aircons, panel heater for winter, bedding and towels provided and a hair dryer.

      Each farmhouse has its own unique character, but they all have one thing in common — the most breathtaking views of the Swartberg and Outeniqua Mountains and surrounding Klein Karoo landscape.

      PLUMBAGO FARMHOUSE

      The house has five bedrooms and can accommodate twelve people.

          Kranskloof Country Lodge

          Kranskloof Country Lodge is nestled in the heart of the Schoemanshoek Valley, 15 km on the R328 from Oudtshoorn to the Cango Caves, you will find our self catering lodge. A true paradise for nature lovers and bird watching friends. Around the pool you can experience peace, tranquility as well as a breathtaking view of the valley and mountains.

          Our free standing cottages are fitted with a fully equipped kitchen, including a fridge, a microwave oven, a cooker with oven, cutlery and a small dining area. All bedding and towels are supplied. Please bring own swimming towels. All cottages have braai facilities.

          From your terrace you will lose yourself in the wonderful views of the green Schoemanshoek Valley and the impressive Outeniqua Mountains. To help you cool off, located in the middle of the lodge is our salt-water swimming pool and a trampoline to keep the children entertained. You can all so go hiking on and around the mountain, with an excellent variety of bird live.

          Protea Cottage:
          This cottage can accommodate 4 people with a double bed in the one room with its own en suite bathroom (shower and bath) and two single beds in a separate room with its own en suite bathroom (shower).           OPPI DAM

          Overview

          Oppi Dam is a private resort situated 15km from Oudtshoorn, direction Cango Caves, in a quaint little village called Schoemanshoek.

          The resort consists of 26 camping sites, where each stand have its own covered ablution facilities, sink for washing dishes, electricity and electric light. Cemented tables and chairs, barbecue facilities as well as a grid, provided for your convenience.

          Slides, swings as well as two canoes on the dam provide hours of fun for the children while mom and dad relax along side the swimming pool.

          Apart from the camp sites there are 5 self catering units. One can accommodate 6 people, 2 can accommodate 4 people and the last 2 can accommodate 2 people. Only the bigger units have DSTV but all of the units have air conditioning.

          The resort have 2 swimming pools, a Wine and Deli where they sell wines of the region, a nursery and a General Store.
